Program Offerings
Jazzercise Aerobics: A 60-minute class with a warm-up, 30-minute
aerobic segment, muscle toning and stretching. Beginner Fitness Class: A mild aerobic exercise class. A good
starting place for those who have never participated in a group exercise
class or have not exercised in a long time or are pregnant. The class
is designed to move all the joints in the body from fingers to toes and
to help improve balance, coordination and breathing. Another big component
of this class is socialization and fun. Also good for older adults. Intermediate Fitness Class: This class is designed to pick up
the pace. The emphasis will be on increasing endurance while improving
coordination and memory skills. A great place for the more active older
adult. Firm and Fit: An upbeat moderate impact aerobic class. Emphasis
will be on toning, strength and cardio- respiratory conditioning.
Line Dancing for Beginners: No partner is necessary for this class.
Learn the basic steps and increase your memory skills and coordination.
Speed of instruction will be determined by the ability of the participants.
Adult Dodge Ball: A co-ed adult competition that brings you back
to your school days. Participation is by individual and drop-in. Adult Drop-in Floor Hockey: A co-ed adult floor hockey competition.
Two program sessions. Participation is by individual and drop-in.
Youth Instructional Classes: Youth classes for 5-12 year olds
in the areas of : Introduction to Sports, Climbing Wall, Golf and Physical
Fitness will be offer during this session. Dates and times will be announced,
non-payment registration is required. Those that may be interested should
call the YMCA and leave name, number and interested program on our sign-up
sheet. Youth & Adult Karate Classes: The YMCA in partnership with
Tatsu-Do is offering youth and adult karate classes. This universal class
focuses an individual's self-confidence and self-discipline in the practice
of the Martial Arts. Youth 5 years of age and up can participate. Additional
uniforms, manual etc. purchased from the instructor. For information contact
the instructor, Mark LaDouce at 732-3615. Youth In-Door Soccer Mini Nov. League: for ages 6-12 years of
age (or still in Junior High school). Games played on Saturdays, Nov.
10, 17, 24, Dec.1. Practices begin in Oct. to be announced. Games played
with special Futsal ball. Age divisions based on number of children signed
up. Four game season,. REGULAR Youth In-Door Soccer League: for ages 6-12 years of age
(or still in Junior High school). All games played on Sunday afternoons
Dec. 9, 16, Jan. 6, 13, 20, 27, no earlier than noon. Practices begin
in November to be announced. Games played with special Futsal ball. Age
divisions based on number of children signed up. Six game season, no games
on Christmas and New Year weekends.
Competitive Volleyball: A 6-on-6 competitive league for serious
volleyball players, with referees and scorekeeping. Roster limited to
12 players. 10 games plus play-offs. League plays on Monday nights. Registration
by team one-week prior to start date. Captains meeting to be announced. Recreational Volleyball: A 6-on-6 league that stresses fun, fitness
and wellness. Roster is limited to 12 players. 11 games are played. League
plays on Tuesday nights. Registration by team one-week prior to start
date. Captains meeting to be announced.
Drop-in Basketball: Open basketball for members and non-members
for drop-in or pick-up games. No registration needed. Wednesdays and limited
program schedule on Fridays. Fridays from Sept.-Nov. 2006 and March-June
2007. Youth Basketball League: 6-12 years of age. All games played on
Sunday afternoons beginning Feb. 25, 2007, no earlier than noon. Practices
begin in February to be announced. Age divisions based on number of children
signed up. Six game season.
High School Soccer: A boys and girls (separate) league for high
school-aged students. Registration is by team, 12-person roster limit.
Game is played under Futsal rules with referees. Games are played on weeknights
from 5-9 pm. Registration and $50 deposit due two-weeks prior to league
start date. Coach’s meeting to be announced. League play begins
Dec. 6, 2007 for both boys and girls.

adult. Chair Aerobic Class: In this class the chair will be used for
both sitting and for balance while standing. Move, stretch and strengthen
your muscles in this low impact low intensity class. Senior Volleyball: For older adults who enjoy just dropping in
for recreational volleyball. Senior Game Day: Come join us as we try out different activities
such as: pickle ball, badminton, shuffleboard and horseshoes. |
